Basketball Recap: St. David's Gets the Win

Wake Christian Academy came into Tuesday's game looking for another win against St. David, but George Coleman wouldn't allow it. The St. David's Warriors enjoyed a cozy 67-50 win over the Wake Christian Academy Bulldogs on Tuesday thanks in part to Coleman, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and ten rebounds. He has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last six times he's played.

Despite the loss, Wake Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: freshman Paxton Coon posted 18 points. That was a full 36% of Wake Christian Academy's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's put up more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Will Curry, who scored six points and six boards.

St. David's record now sits at 6-9. As for Wake Christian Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season.

St. David's didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 64-61 defeat against Cary Christian on the 13th. Wake Christian Academy has also already played their next game, a 67-45 loss against Wilmington Christian Academy on the 14th.
