Softball Recap: Southern Choctaw Makes It Six in a Row at Home

Southern Choctaw barely beat Clarke County the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Southern Choctaw Indians blew past the Clarke County Bulldogs 21-6 on Thursday. With that win, the Indians brought their scoring average up to 6.6 runs per game.

Keri McGee was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high. Kristina Turner was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Southern Choctaw always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .676. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Southern Choctaw's victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-3-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.3 runs over those games. As for Clarke County, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Looking ahead, Southern Choctaw will take on Sweet Water at 5:00 p.m. on March 6th. We've got a battle between Bulldogs coming up.
