Softball Recap: Juniata Valley's Undefeated Season over After Six Games

Juniata Valley easily dispatched Bishop Guilfoyle last Monday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Hornets fell just short of the Moshannon Valley Black Knights/Damsels by a score of 6-4 on Thursday. The Hornets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Black Knights/Damsels apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Juniata Valley saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brooklyn Harman, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Having lost for the first time this season, Juniata Valley fell to 4-1-1. As for Moshannon Valley, their win ended a ten-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-3.

Coming up, Juniata Valley will be playing in front of their home fans against Penns Valley Area at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Hornets 3.7, the Rams 3) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Moshannon Valley, they will square off against Glendale at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
