Basketball Recap: Kemper County Comes Up Short

Kemper County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They took a hard 60-42 fall against the Northeast Lauderdale Trojans. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 53-51 back in December of 2024.

Northeast Lauderdale got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Bj Portis out in front who went 6 of 8 en route to 13 points. Steven Lightsey was another key player, putting up ten points along with five assists and five boards.

Kemper County's defeat dropped their record down to 6-16. As for Northeast Lauderdale, their win bumped their record up to 12-10.

Kemper County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Northeast Lauderdale, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 64-62 victory against Newton County on the 28th.
