Preview: Hemingway Tigers vs. East Clarendon Wolverines
Hemingway and East Clarendon are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2017, but not for long. The Hemingway Tigers will head out on the road to take on the East Clarendon Wolverines at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hemingway is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
Last Saturday, things could have been worse for Hemingway, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 67-49 loss to Berry.
Despite their defeat, Hemingway saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Jerel Hampton, who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. Hampton is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last seven games he's played. Another player making a difference was Omarion Burgess, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, East Clarendon's recent rough patch got a bit rougher last Friday after their ninth straight loss. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 44-43 to Lamar.
Hemingway's loss dropped their record down to 2-14. As for East Clarendon, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-11.
Hemingway couldn't quite finish off East Clarendon in their previous matchup back in November of 2023 and fell 49-46. Can Hemingway avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
