Basketball Recap: Magnolia School of Excellence Takes a Loss

Magnolia School of Excellence lost against Haughton back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Magnolia School of Excellence opened the new year with a less-than-successful 81-70 defeat to the Haughton Buccaneers. While losing is never fun, Magnolia School of Excellence can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 361st, while Haughton is ranked 167th).

Magnolia School of Excellence dropped their record down to 3-12 with the loss, which was their eighth straight at home. As for Haughton, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 20-8 record this season.

Magnolia School of Excellence didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 26-18 victory against Belaire on the 3rd. As for Haughton, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 63-30 win against Bossier on the 3rd.
