After a string of four wins, Aiken's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell 7-3 to the Greenwood Eagles. If the Fighting Green Hornets were looking for revenge after losing 4-1 to the Eagles when the teams met back in May of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Aiken saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kullen Haltiwanger, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Aiken's loss dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Greenwood, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-8.

Looking ahead, Aiken will venture away from home to challenge North Augusta at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Greenwood, they will host J.L. Mann at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Patriots' pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so the Eagles' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
