Basketball Game Preview: Toppenish Wildcats vs. East Valley Red Devils

Toppenish and East Valley are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2017, but not for long. The Toppenish Wildcats will be playing in front of their home fans against the East Valley Red Devils at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Toppenish is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Ellensburg just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They came up short against the Bulldogs, falling 57-36. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 87th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 12th).

Meanwhile, East Valley lost 56-33 to Selah on Tuesday. The Red Devils haven't had much luck with the Vikings recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

East Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Toppenish, their loss dropped their record down to 8-6.

Everything came up roses for Toppenish against East Valley in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, as the squad secured a 67-35 win. Will Toppenish repeat their success, or does East Valley have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
