Softball Game Preview: Aitkin Gobblers vs. Crosby-Ironton Rangers

Aitkin has gone a perfect 10-0 against Crosby-Ironton recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Gobblers will host the Rangers at 4:30 p.m. Aitkin is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.1 runs per game this season.

On Tuesday, Aitkin got the win against Pine City by a conclusive 18-5. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Gobblers.

Natalie Stueven was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with four stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those four stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Madellyn Schneider, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with five stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Crosby-Ironton fell victim to Hinckley-Finlayson and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 19-0 to the Jaguars. The Rangers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Crosby-Ironton's loss dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Aitkin, their win bumped their record up to 13-3.

Everything went Aitkin's way against Crosby-Ironton in their previous matchup back in April, as Aitkin made off with a 23-0 victory. Do the Gobblers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rangers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
