Basketball Recap: Alhambra Moors vs. California Condors
Alhambra and California squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Alhambra had to settle for second. They lost 81-61 to the California Condors. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Condors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 78-59 back in December of 2024.
California's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jair Linares, who went 6-for-11 on his way to 18 points in addition to six boards and three steals. The dominant performance also gave Linares a new career-high in three-point shooting accuracy (60%). Another player making a difference was Aham Nwosu, who almost dropped a double-double with 15 points and nine rebounds.
Alhambra's loss dropped their record down to 17-14. As for California, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 17-15.
Alhambra does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for California, it'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Condors face off against the Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on February 28th. One thing working in California's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five contests.
