Football Recap: Jay Piles Up the Points Against Martin

Jay came tearing into Thursday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 30.3 points), and they left with even more momentum. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Martin Tigers 36-7. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 22-0.

Jay can attribute much of their success to Tajari Wellington, who rushed for 47 yards and two scores. Kyle Jackson was another key player, rushing for 56 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Jay's record now sits at 7-1. As for Martin, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Jay is set to square off against their familiar foe Southwest at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Martin will face off against rival Cigarroa at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
