Basketball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Metuchen

Metuchen lost to J.P. Stevens back in February of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Saturday. The Metuchen Bulldogs managed a 45-41 win over the J.P. Stevens Hawks. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 110th, while the Hawks are ranked 305th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Metuchen to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jason Woods, who went 6 for 15 on his way to 14 points and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Reece Osborn-Jones, who posted 11 points.

The victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.3 points per game. As for J.P. Stevens, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Metuchen didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 59-23 defeat against Johnson on the 30th. As for J.P. Stevens, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 67-55 loss against Bernards on the 30th.
