Baseball Recap: Smoky Hill Wins Going Away Against Strasburg

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Montezuma-Cortez, Smoky Hill was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Strasburg Indians as they made off with a 14-4 win. The contest marked the Buffaloes' most dominant victory of the season so far.

The team relied heavily on Max Goodrich, who scored a run and stole four bases while going 1-for-4. Smoky Hill is 4-2 when Goodrich posts two or more stolen bases, but 1-2 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Hudson Roth, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Smoky Hill now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Strasburg, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-3.

Smoky Hill and Strasburg will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Buffaloes are set to face off against their familiar foe Cherry Creek at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Strasburg will challenge rival Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
