Volleyball Recap: Lyle/Pacelli Comes Up Short

If Lyle/Pacelli was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Schaeffer Academy on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Athletics came up short against the Southland Rebels on Thursday, falling 3-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Athletics in their meetings with the Rebels: they've now lost nine in a row.

While Lyle/Pacelli ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 20 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-20, 25-23.

Akeera Oman paced Lyle/Pacelli's offense, picking up ten kills. Oman got some help from Autumn Drennan and her 32 assists. Jacey Bednar controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Lyle/Pacelli's loss dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Southland, their victory bumped their record up to 5-1.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Lyle/Pacelli will face off against rival Kingsland at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Southland is set to challenge their familiar foe Glenville-Emmons at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
