League recap: Toledo stuns Jefferson in upset

The biggest upset of the week belonged to Toledo, who took down 154th ranked Jefferson, 27-13.

Pleasant Hill extended the longest winning streak in 3A PacWest this week by beating Harrisburg, 41-7. This was the team's fourth consecutive win.

Carlin Ables put up the best numbers through the air as Salem Academy fell to Blanchet Catholic. He had a total of seven completions for 75 yards. Ables' favorite target this week was Jake Hall, who caught two passes for 43 yards.

Zach Rimer made the biggest impact on defense this week as Scio defeated Oakland. The 5-foot-10 senior recorded one fumble and grabbed one sack.

Nathan Jones was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 26 carries, he ran for 228 yards as the Loggers fell to the Boomers. Teammate Daniel Harper added to the ground attack by rushing for 129 yards.

Martin was the best wideout in the league this week as Jefferson lost to Toledo. Martin racked up four receptions for 63 yards. Dillon Roe helped Jefferson's passing attack out by catching one ball for five yards.

6-foot-5 quarterback Gage Wheeler of Brian Martin's team is the league leader in passing yards this season with 365. He has also thrown three touchdowns. On the ground, Scio's Jones has rushed for 633 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Anthony Tornio. The Salem Academy star has 10 catches for 169 yards.

Pleasant Hill suffered a letdown when it was bounced from the state Top 25 this week after a 41-7 loss to Pleasant Hill. Kirk Miller's team had been ranked 24th, but fell to 33 following the defeat.
