            Baseball Recap: Craig County Rockets vs. Highland Rams        
        
		
        
        
            Craig County extended their losing streak  (dating back to last season) to 12  on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 0-9 in the process. They lost  19-4 to the Highland Rams. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rams this season, as they also lost their prior matchup  10-2  on April 3rd.
  Isaac Lucas was cooking despite his team's loss,   going a perfect 1-for-1 with one  run, one  double,  and one  RBI. That  double marked the first that  he has  hit this season.
As for Highland, the  victory was  the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-5. The  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games.
 On Highland's side, they got a  massive  performance out of  Zach Armstrong, who  went 2-for-3 with one  home run, two  stolen bases,  and five  RBI. Armstrong also  scored three  runs, which is notable because the Rams are 6-2 when he posts  at  least  two  runs, but 1-3 otherwise.  John Wagner was another key player,  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances with one  home run, two  stolen bases,  and three  RBI.
 Looking ahead, Craig County will take on Staunton River at 5:00  p.m.  on Monday. As for Highland, they will face off against Bath County at 5:00  p.m.  on Monday. The Rams' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Chargers have averaged an impressive 7.8  runs per game this season.
