Baseball Recap: Mission Hills Gets the Win

Mission Hills was forced to take a big loss against they on Tuesday, they got the better of them on Thursday. They won by a run and slipped past the Del Norte Nighthawks 4-3. This was a revenge game for the Grizzlies: when they faced off against the Nighthawks on Tuesday, they had to take a 11-1 defeat.

Brody Agonia tossed a big game, striking out seven batters over 5.2 innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits (and not a single walk). Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Preston Waller, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season. Micah Mecucci was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

Mission Hills lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Mission Hills' record is now 10-12. As for Del Norte, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-10.

Mission Hills will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Nighthawks: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.
