Football Recap: Wausa/Osmond Piles Up the Points Against Niobrara/Verdigre

Wausa/Osmond lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Niobrara/Verdigre, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Friday's matchup. Wausa/Osmond blew past Niobrara/Verdigre 64-20 on Friday. Wausa/Osmond's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Leading Wausa/Osmond to victory were Matthew Schindler and Mac Carlson. Schindler gained 228 total yards and four touchdowns, while Carlson rushed for 127 yards and four TDs on only 12 carries. That's the most rushing touchdowns Carlson has posted since back in August. Another player making a difference was Lincoln Thorell, who picked up 67 receiving yards and one score.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Wausa/Osmond was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 405 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 164 rushing yards in six consecutive games.

Although Niobrara/Verdigre took the loss, they still got scores from Cash Wickersham, Landyn Frank, and Isaac Hoferer.

Wausa/Osmond pushed their record up to 7-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.5 points over those games. As for Niobrara/Verdigre, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

Wausa/Osmond wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 36-6 victory against Summerland [Clearwater/Ewing/Orchard] on the 23rd. Niobrara/Verdigre does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
