Sandwich had to kick off their season on the road on Wednesday, but they showed no ill effects. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Nantucket Whalers. The victory continues a trend for the Blue Knights in their matchups with the Whalers: they've now won three in a row.

Sandwich walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the second set). The final score came out to 25-22, 25-12, 24-26, 25-16.

Nantucket's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bessie Aguilar, who had 15 aces. Another player making a difference was Viktoria Bozhkova (C), who had 12 aces.

Coming up, Sandwich will take on Marshfield at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Nantucket, they are headed away from home for the first time to challenge St. John Paul II at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
