Soccer Recap: Calaveras Comes Up Short

Calaveras was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 7-0 to the Summerville Bears. While losing is never fun, the Red Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 1012th, while the Bears are ranked 331st).

Calaveras' defeat dropped their record down to 7-9-2. As for Summerville, they pushed their record up to 16-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Calaveras will square off against Linden at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Linden is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 4.9 goals per game this season. As for Summerville, they and Riverbank will meet on Tuesday for a tough Bear Battle. One thing working in Summerville's favor is that they have posted at least four goals in their last seven contests.
