Cubby Roth (C) put in work while hitting and pitching. He struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs.

Roth (C) wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Landon Conyne, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases. Patrick Allen also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen bases of the season.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Mayfield has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.1 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Cobleskill-Richmondville struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 9.4 strikeouts.
