Softball Recap: Naperville North Takes a Loss

If Naperville North was feeling good fresh off their 13-3 takedown of Metea Valley on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Huskies fell just short of the Batavia Bulldogs by a score of 6-5 on Saturday. The Huskies were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Maddi Larsen was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Faelin Bretag, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

Naperville North's loss dropped their record down to 5-16. As for Batavia, the victory snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 5-14 record.

Looking ahead, Naperville North will look to defend their home field on Monday against Waubonsie Valley at 4:30 p.m. As for Batavia, they will head out on the road to square off against St. Charles North at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
