With a playoff win on the line, Fenwick rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They walked away with a 38-28 victory over the East St. Louis Flyers. The win was nothing new for the Friars as they're now sitting on five straight.
Among those leading the charge was Jamen Williams, who threw for 171 yards and a pair of TDs on only 14 passes, and also rushed for 33 yards and one touchdown. Those 33 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.
Despite the loss, East St. Louis still got an impressive performance from Myson Johnson-Cook, who rushed for 234 yards and three scores while picking up 9.0 yards per carry. Johnson-Cook's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 168 rushing yards. Another player making a difference was Ahmad Coleman, who rushed for 101 yards and one touchdown on only 11 carries.
Fenwick's record is now 11-3. As for East St. Louis, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-4.
As of now, neither Fenwick nor the Flyers have any future games scheduled.
