The Woodstock Blue Streaks will venture away from home to face off against the Sandwich Indians at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Woodstock made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Richmond-Burton, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Blue Streaks were the clear victors by a 13-2 margin over the Rockets on Wednesday. That 11 run margin sets a new team best for the Blue Streaks this season.
Max Haggerty was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. Haggerty was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Woodstock let Angelo Pacini and Chace Waterson run wild. Pacini scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4, while Waterson scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Those two hits gave Pacini a new career-high. Sonny Marsalla also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Woodstock kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 4.5 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 9.2.
Meanwhile, Sandwich made easy work of Harvard on Wednesday and carried off a 17-4 win. The Indians haven't had any issues with the Hornets recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
Braden Behringer made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits (and only one walk). He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Sandwich is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 5-8 otherwise. Behringer was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with five RBI, two runs, and two doubles.
In other batting news, Jeffery Ashley was a standout: he scored four runs and stole four bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. He has become a key player for Sandwich: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 4-9 otherwise. Nick Michalek was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.
With the win, Woodstock broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-7. As for Sandwich, their record now sits at 7-9.
