Baseball Recap: Fairfield Takes a Loss

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Fairfield couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell just short of the Central Catholic Raiders by a score of 3-1 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Falcons have suffered since April 12, 2024.

Fairfield saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Pat O'Reilly, who went 2-for-3 with one home run.

Fairfield's loss dropped their record down to 21-9. As for Central Catholic, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-10 record this season.

As of now, neither Fairfield nor Central Catholic have any future games scheduled.
