Football Recap: Maxwell Comes Up Short at Home Against Rio Vista + How To Watch

Maxwell unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the Rio Vista Rams on Friday, falling 26-0.

Levi Velazquez threw for 31 yards on three of nine attempts. On the ground, Luke Pearson rushed for 32 yards.

Emmett Medders was a one-man wrecking crew For Rio Vista. as he rushed for 68 yards and a pair of scores on only six carries, and also threw for 114 yards and one touchdown on only ten passes. Another player making a difference was Ethan Friedel, who gained 121 total yards.

The win got Rio Vista back to even at 1-1.

Coming up, Maxwell will face off against Weed at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Rio Vista, they will square off against Winters at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
