Preview: Hemingway Tigers vs. Carvers Bay Bears

Hemingway is 1-9 against Carvers Bay since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Hemingway Tigers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Carvers Bay Bears at 8:00 p.m. Hopefully Hemingway focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten last Saturday.

Last Saturday, things could have been worse for Hemingway, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 67-49 loss to Berry.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Jerel Hampton, who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds. He hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for seven straight games. Another player making a difference was Omarion Burgess, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.

Meanwhile, Carvers Bay scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They came out on top against Scott's Branch by a score of 67-59. The victory was just what Carvers Bay needed coming off of a 67-41 defeat in their prior match.

Hemingway bumped their record down to 2-14 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Carvers Bay, their win bumped their record up to 10-7.

Hemingway came up short against Carvers Bay in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, falling 58-54. Can Hemingway avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
