Softball Recap: Woodland Beavers vs. Hockinson Hawks
Woodland stacked an eighth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Wednesday. They were the clear victor by a 10-1 margin over the Hockinson Hawks. The win was nothing new for Woodland as they're now sitting on four straight.
Gracelynn Huffman was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over seven innings pitched. Huffman has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive pitching appearances. Huffman was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances.
In other batting news, Ainsleigh Utter was incredible, going 4-for-4 with four RBI and two runs. Another player making a difference was Alyson Russell, who went 3-for-3 with a triple, two RBI, and a double.
Woodland pushed their record up to 10-5 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. As for Hockinson, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-10.
Woodland will head out on the road to face off against Mark Morris at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
