Softball Recap: Sweetwater Drops Highest Score of Season Against North Garland

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Sweetwater). They put the hurt on the North Garland Raiders with a sharp 22-1 victory on Saturday. Considering the Mustangs have won four matches by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Sweetwater got a massive performance out of Phoenix Walker, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, five RBI, and one triple. Those four runs gave Walker a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kamree Shaw, who fired off two home runs, three runs, and three RBI while going 3-for-4.

Sweetwater kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive contests.

Sweetwater's win bumped their record up to 5-6-1. As for North Garland, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-12.

Coming up, Sweetwater will take on Clyde at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for North Garland, they will face off against Wylie East at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
