Baseball Recap: Mogollon Makes It Three in a Row on the Road

Mogollon won the last time they faced Superior and things went their way on Friday too. The Mustangs came out on top against the Panthers by a score of 10-5. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Mustangs.

Rocky Porter was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing six innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 13 consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Porter wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Chancy Worsley, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI.

Mogollon pushed their record up to 18-5 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. As for Superior, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-13 record this season.

Mogollon will venture away from home to take on Ash Fork/Seligman at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Superior, they will welcome Valley Lutheran at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
