Dunnellon and South Sumter are an even 4-4 against one another  since October of 2016, but  not for long. The Tigers will venture away from home to  take on the Raiders  at 7:30  p.m.  on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Dunnellon's offense might be in the hot seat  on Friday considering what happened against Hawthorne  on Thursday. They came up short against  the Hornets, falling  26-0. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Tigers haven't been shut out since  back in August.
Meanwhile,  while it was all tied up  0-0 at halftime, South Sumter was not quite Zephyrhills' equal in the second half  on Friday. They fell  20-14 to the Bulldogs. That's two games in a row now that the Raiders have lost by  exactly six  points.
 The match pitted two dominant  backs against one another in  Timothy Gaynor and  Roe Miller. Miller had a great game and rushed for 153 yards and a pair of  TDs. Meanwhile,  Gaynor did his best for the losing side, rushing for 86 yards and one  touchdown.
 Dunnellon now  has a losing record of 4-5. As for South Sumter,  this is the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 5-3.
Friday's  matchup will pit two  of the most dominant  backs against one another:  Tony Tanner and  Gaynor. Tanner just won't slow down this season and  has averaged 100.4 rushing yards per game. Gaynor has been a dominant force too and  has run in 13 touchdowns while averaging 97.2 rushing yards per game.
 Dunnellon was able to grind out a solid  win over South Sumter in their previous matchup  back in October of 2024, winning  22-14. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the  team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
