Flag Football Recap: University Takes a Loss

University was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were dealt a 33-6 defeat at the hands of the Sacred Heart Prep Gators. While losing is never fun, the Red Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California flag football rankings (they are ranked 713th, while the Gators are ranked 26th).

University's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Sacred Heart Prep, they pushed their record up to 13-1 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. University will host San Marin at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Mustangs' defense has only allowed 8.8 points per game this season, so the Red Devils' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Sacred Heart Prep, they will welcome Menlo School at 4:45 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Gators 7.4, the Knights 10.2) so any points scored will be well earned.
