Basketball Recap: Rogers' Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Rogers's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 53-50 victory over the Newport Grizzlies. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Pirates as it put an end to their six-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Rogers' first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Newport, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rogers and Riverside will round out the year against one another at at 1:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Newport, they will challenge Kettle Falls at 4:30 p.m. on January 4, 2025.
