Basketball Recap: Bloomington South's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Bloomington South won the last time they faced Castle and things went their way on Friday too. The Bloomington South Panthers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 53-50 win over the Castle Knights. The victory was familiar territory for the Panthers who have now won four matches in a row.

Loss or not, Castle got some senior leadership from Brady P Reiter and Xander Niehaus. P Reiter went 5 for 6 en route to 14 points, while Niehaus posted 13 points. The dominant performance gave P Reiter a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Carter Bobe, who scored six points.

Bloomington South pushed their record up to 11-6 with the win, which was their third straight at home. As for Castle, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-9.

Bloomington South wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 70-43 victory against Martinsville on the 25th. As for Castle, they will take on Evansville Mater Dei at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Castle is facing Evansville Mater Dei at the right time seeing as Evansville Mater Dei is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
