Football Recap: Homer Takes a Loss

Homer was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a blow against the Indian River Wolves, falling 60-8. The Trojans were not able to make up for their loss to the Wolves from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

Homer's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Indian River, the win made it two in a row for them and also bumps their season record up to 4-3.

Homer and Indian River should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps New York Rankings. The Trojans will face off against Cortland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank advantage (221 vs. 516). Meanwhile, Indian River (ranked 135th) will meet South Jefferson (ranked 384th) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
