Volleyball Recap: Saint Andrew's Comes Up Short

Saint Andrew was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the King's Academy Lions. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Scots of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2023.

While Saint Andrew's was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-23, 25-21.

Luiza Queiroz paced Saint Andrew's offense, picking up ten kills. Queiroz got some help from Taylor Walsh and her 16 assists. Queiroz was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Saint Andrew's now has a losing record of 2-3. As for King's Academy, their victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Saint Andrew's will host American Heritage at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for King's Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Cardinal Newman at 6:00 p.m.
