Baseball Recap: Gulf Breeze Comes Up Short

Gulf Breeze was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 9-5 to the West Florida Jaguars. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Jaguars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 back in February.

Tommy Regan was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Jake Hooten, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

Gulf Breeze's defeat dropped their record down to 15-7. As for West Florida, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-3 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gulf Breeze will challenge Pace at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Patriots will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last. As for West Florida, they will square off against Milton at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
