Basketball Game Preview: Lebanon Blue Devils vs. Smyrna Bulldogs

Lebanon is 3-0 against Smyrna since January of 2024 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Lebanon Blue Devils will be playing at home against the Smyrna Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. The timing is sure in Lebanon's favor as the team sits on ten straight wins at home while Smyrna has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.

Lebanon is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took their game on Friday with ease, bagging a 79-35 victory over Wilson Central. The Blue Devils have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 15 matches by 20 points or more this season.

Lebanon found their leader in sophomore Ellie Beth McDonald, who went 9 for 13 on her way to 24 points and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points McDonald has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Tiara Spencer, who went 7 of 14 en route to 19 points and six rebounds.

Lebanon was working as a unit and finished the game with 22 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Meanwhile, Smyrna lost 40-15 to LaVergne on Friday.

Lebanon is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 32.6 points. As for Smyrna, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-11.

Everything came up roses for Lebanon against Smyrna in their previous meeting two weeks ago, as the squad secured a 57-18 win. Will Lebanon repeat their success, or does Smyrna have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
