Football Game Preview: Winlock Cardinals vs. North Beach Hyaks + How To Watch

The Winlock Cardinals will face off against the North Beach Hyaks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Winlock will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each contest than the last.

Having struggled with four losses in a row, Winlock turned things around against Oakville on Friday. They blew past the Acorns 41-8. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Cardinals' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington football rankings (they are ranked 101st, while the Acorns are ranked 27th).

Winlock found their leader in sophomore Monte Williams, who rushed for 96 yards on only nine carries, and also threw for 108 yards and one TD on only seven passes.

Meanwhile, North Beach played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by Wahkiakum 60-8. The matchup marked the Hyaks' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Winlock's win bumped their record up to 2-4. As for North Beach, this is the second loss in a row for them and also nudges their season record down to 2-4.

Everything came up roses for Winlock against North Beach when the teams last played back in September of 2019, as the team secured a 49-0 victory. Do the Cardinals have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Hyaks turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
