Preview: Dover Tigers vs. Dwight Morrow Maroon Raiders
The Dover Tigers will head out on the road to face off against the Dwight Morrow Maroon Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Dover will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each match than the last.
Last Friday, it was close, but Dover sidestepped Fair Lawn for a 24-21 victory.
Dover's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Anthony Trongone led the charge by throwing for 168 yards and two touchdowns. Brandon Flynn was in the mix too, providing Dover with two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Dwight Morrow got themselves on the board against Kearny on Friday, but Kearny never followed suit. They took their match on the road with ease, bagging a 56-0 win over the Kardinals. The result was nothing new for Dwight Morrow, who have now won five matchups by 23 points or more so far this season.
Their wins bumped Dover to 4-2 and Dwight Morrow to 6-1.
Dover didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Dwight Morrow in their previous meeting back in October of 2022, but they still walked away with a 20-14 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Dover since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
