Baseball Recap: Carmel Christian Takes a Loss

Fans were treated to a battle of the Cougars on Tuesday. Carmel Christian took a 12-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of High Point Christian Academy. Carmel Christian has struggled against High Point Christian Academy recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Leyton Guhl was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. He has become a key player for Carmel Christian: the team is 6-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 2-5 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Caden Tarr, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base.

Carmel Christian's loss dropped their record down to 8-6. As for High Point Christian Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.

Carmel Christian is taking a road trip to take on Charlotte Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for High Point Christian Academy, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Hickory Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. The Knights will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something the Cougars surely won't give up without a fight.
