Softball Game Preview: Bryan Station Defenders vs. Ballard Bruins

The Bryan Station Defenders will challenge the Ballard Bruins at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Bryan Station will be strutting in after a victory while Ballard will be coming in after a loss.

Bryan Station took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Henry Clay with a sharp 11-1 win. The Defenders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matches by seven runs or more this season.

Karsyn Rockvoan spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on one hit and racked up 12 Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Olivia Greenberg, who scored a run while going 2-for-2. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (three).

Meanwhile, Ballard lost 11-3 to Assumption on Tuesday.

Myla Jones made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

Bryan Station pushed their record up to 8-3 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Ballard, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-9-1.
