Football Game Preview: Deer Trail vs. Edison

On Friday Deer Trail take on Edison at Homecoming at 7:00 PM. If you head out to watch the game, expect to stay the whole 48 minutes: the MaxPreps rankings predict a close match.

Deer Trail suffered a grim 31-52 defeat to Genoa-Hugo last Friday. Deer Trail got a solid performance out of junior Walker Morelock, who rushed for 262 yards and 3 touchdowns; unfortunately, it just wasn't enough for the victory. In fact, with 14 tackles Morelock was a force on both sides of the ball.

Meanwhile, their game two weeks ago wasn't at all kind to Edison, but their most recent match may have softened the blow. They put a hurting on Cripple Creek-Victor to the tune of 52-13.

Edison's win lifted them to 1-1 while Deer Trail's loss dropped them down to 1-2. We'll find out if Edison can add another positive mark to their record or if Deer Trail can shake off the defeat and take the spring out of Edison's step.
