Basketball Recap: Eastern Mennonite Snaps Eight-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Eastern Mennonite played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against the Potomac Falls Panthers, falling 69-46. The Flames were down 55-35 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Brennan Hytten was a one-man wrecking crew for Potomac Falls as he went 7 for 13 on his way to 17 points. Those 17 points gave Hytten a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Troy Hooper, who posted four points in addition to six boards and four steals.

Eastern Mennonite's defeat ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 1-1. As for Potomac Falls, they pushed their record up to 3-0 with the win, which was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Eastern Mennonite wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 57-44 loss against Broadway on the 7th. As for Potomac Falls, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, an 82-55 victory against Monticello on the 7th.
