Softball Recap: Coldspring-Oakhurst Extends Winning Streak to Nine

Coldspring-Oakhurst came tearing into Tuesday's matchup with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.6 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Onalaska Wildcats an 18-0 shutout. The Trojans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 games by six runs or more this season.

Trinity Rosales made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most runs she has posted since back in February.

In other batting news, Coldspring-Oakhurst got a massive performance out of Camry Barton, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 4-for-4. Those two stolen bases gave Barton a new career-high. Taonna McGraw was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while going 3-for-4.

Coldspring-Oakhurst was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .636. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in nine consecutive contests.

Coldspring-Oakhurst's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 20-6. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.2 runs over those games. As for Onalaska, they are on a 13-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-16.

Coldspring-Oakhurst will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Wildcats: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
