Hartland and Howell are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2022, but not for long. The Hartland Eagles will take on the Howell Highlanders in a tournament on Friday. Hartland will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

The home team had won the previous two meetings between Hartland and Brighton, and Hartland kept the tradition alive. Hartland walked away with a 39-27 victory over Brighton on Wednesday. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 31st, while the Bulldogs are ranked 127th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Howell didn't have too much trouble with Milford on Wednesday as they won 43-27. The Highlanders haven't had any issues with the Mavericks recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Hartland's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-5. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 25.7 points on average over those games. As for Howell, their win bumped their record up to 17-6.

Hartland came up short against Howell in their previous matchup back in February, falling 42-36. Can Hartland avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
