Softball Recap: Hoover Cardinals vs. Mount Miguel Matadors
Hoover was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Mount Miguel Matadors, falling 21-5. If the Cardinals were looking for revenge after losing 16-6 to the Matadors when the teams met back in March of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Kimberly Soto made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Van Hoang Tuong also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Hoover's record is now 3-8. As for Mount Miguel, their victory ended an eight-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-6.
Looking ahead, Hoover will head out on the road to take on Crawford at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Mount Miguel, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Lincoln at 4:00 p.m.
