Soccer Game Preview: Orange County vs. Albemarle

Orange County hasn't had much luck against Albemarle recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Fighting Hornets will be playing at home against the Patriots at 7:00 p.m. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Orange County is headed into Thursday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Wednesday. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of Riverbend. The game was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but Orange County couldn't quite close it out.

Meanwhile, Albemarle came up short against Western Albemarle on Monday and fell 3-1. Albemarle haven't had much luck with Western Albemarle recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Albemarle's goal came courtesy of Gavin Appel, who's now up to 14 this season.

Orange County's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7-2. As for Albemarle, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4-1.
