Softball Recap: Logansport Wins Going Away Against Ebarb

Logansport won the last time they faced Ebarb and things went their way on Monday too. The Tigers blew past the Rebels 9-3. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 18 games by six runs or more this season.

Kennedi Smith spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on six hits and racked up ten Ks.

At the plate, Logansport let Abbie Kate Forrest and Anna Atkins run wild. Forrest scored a run while going 1-for-3, while Atkins scored two runs while going 2-for-4. That's the most runs Atkins has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Marianna Roberts, who scored two runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Logansport always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matches.

Logansport pushed their record up to 21-11 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 8.7 runs. As for Ebarb, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 17-6 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Logansport will head out to challenge Captain Shreve at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Gators will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Tigers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Ebarb, they are taking a road trip to take on Northwood at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rebels will need to watch out since the Gators have now posted at least ten runs in their last six games.
