Basketball Recap: Providence Classical Christian Academy Panthers vs. Crosspoint Christian

The Providence Classical Christian Academy Panthers waltzed into their matchup on Monday with three straight wins but they left with four. They walked away with a 53-42 victory over Crosspoint Christian. That's another feather in the cap for Providence Classical Christian Academy, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.

It was another big night for Ben Mattull, who scored 20 points along with eight rebounds and seven steals. He has been hot recently, having posted 18 or more points the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Lance Zrodlowski, who scored 16 points.

Despite the loss, Crosspoint Christian still got an impressive performance from James Murray, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 18 rebounds. That was a full 40.5% of Crosspoint Christian's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jace Stroup, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.

Even though they lost, Crosspoint Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Providence Classical Christian Academy only pulled down seven offensive rebounds.

Providence Classical Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Crosspoint Christian, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-9.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Providence Classical Christian Academy will take on the Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Crosspoint Christian, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Knights at 7:30 p.m. on January 30th.
